What!?! No Pictures???
That's right. I have cleaned up all of the old posts and we here at Canandaigua Glimpses are getting ready for a brand new photo season. Hope everyone will stay tuned. :)
The purpose of this website and my mission is to keep everyone abreast of happenings in and around the city of Canandaigua with photos and short commentaries. And if I should stray outside of the Canandaigua area for a few photos I hope you'll forgive me. Enjoy your visit and join in by sharing your comments with us.

Hello Glimpsers!I have been asked by several people how they could use the pictures on this site for their desktop wallpaper. I will discuss a couple of ways to do this that are not difficult at all.The first, and easiest way, is to click on the photo you want to use on the Canandaigua Glimpses website and it will open up in another window at a better (higher) screen resolution. You will then right-click on the picture and depending on what browser (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) you are using you will see one of the menu items will say 'set as background' or 'set as desktop background'. Highlight this option and left-click it. You should get a screen that asks whether you want to center the picture or stretch it. Choose stretch in most cases. That's it! You're done!Another way you can do this is to again click on the photo to open it at a higher screen resolution. Then right-click the picture and save it someplace on your hard drive (Probably 'My Documents' in the 'My Pictures' folder). Next go to the Control Panel command. Once there you should double-click on the 'Display' icon and it will bring up the display options box. Okay, now left-click the 'Desktop' tab at the top of the box. Click the 'Browse' button on this page and use the explorer box that opens to locate and select the photo you saved. Under the 'Browse' button it says 'Position' with a drop-down menu. Use this to choose the stretch option and then click 'apply' at the bottom of the box and your done.I hope you enjoy the photographs I post on this site and you are welcome to use them for your desktop wallpaper if you like. If anybody has any trouble with my instructions above they can email me here at CanandaiguaGlimpses@frontiernet.net and I'll try and help sort it out for you.KEEP ON GLIMPSING!!!~TBurd~
